Sunrise Serenity Tea Blend Recipe

I have always enjoyed being alone. Now, as a mother with a lot on my plate, often my days don’t include one minute of peace and alone time unless I make it happen. Being alone is so important to my being able to handle the day that I get up early just to carve out that time. It’s when I can prepare for whatever my schedule is going to be that day, and to simply enjoy the quiet. In the summer, it’s much easier for me because I can get up and go outside with the dogs. Spending time with the plants is calming and feels almost as if I draw energy from them to face my day. I know, it’s a little “woo woo” but whatever works, right?

During the winter months, I spend more time inside. I like to create tea blends that help me find the calmness and focus that I get when I can go out to the green things. It’s not surprising that this recipe works well for my morning routine. Enjoy!

Sunrise Serenity Tea Blend Recipe

  • 1 part green tea leaves (for a gentle energy boost and antioxidant properties)
  • 1/2 part lemon balm leaves (to enhance mood and improve focus)
  • 1/4 part rosemary leaves (for memory and concentration)
  • 1/2 part chamomile flowers (for their calming and soothing effects)
  • 1/4 part lavender flowers (to reduce stress and promote relaxation)

  1. Mix the Herbs: In a bowl, gently combine the green tea leaves, lemon balm, rosemary, chamomile, and lavender. Ensure a uniform mix to distribute the flavors evenly.
  2. Store: Transfer the blend to an airtight container. Keep it in a cool, dry place to preserve the freshness and potency of the herbs.
  3. Brewing the Tea: To brew a cup of Sunrise Serenity, use about 1 teaspoon of the tea blend per 8 oz of hot water (not boiling, around 80°C or 176°F to prevent bitterness in the green tea). Steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea.
  4. Enjoy: Strain the tea into your favorite cup. If you like, you can add a touch of honey or a slice of lemon for an extra layer of flavor.
  5. Reflection Time: As you sip your Sunrise Serenity tea, take a moment to breathe deeply, set an intention for the day, or simply enjoy the calm before the day’s activities begin.

This blend is not just a tea; it’s a morning ritual designed to enhance your daily routine with a moment of peace, focus, and rejuvenation.
