Apps-School: New Year-New iPad

We use real life living, to teach a large part of our homeschool day. I have never been a workbook/busy work, kind of teacher, preferring to teach lessons with a purpose.
It is a given, that my kids have to be on the cutting edge of technology in order to be productive in their lives. It would be a disservice for me to send them out into the world without plenty of computer time. This doesn’t mean that I allow them to go willy-nilly without supervision, but it does mean that I am not afraid of them learning to use to type (in complete sentences and with proper grammar, thank you), use computers, iPads, Smartphones and anything else that involves the latest gadgetry.

Apps are wonderful! You do have to sift through quite a bit of garbage to find worthwhile, and still engaging, apps for the kids. My dilemma is that I need apps for such a range of ages, it is time consuming to pick through the many places that offer them.

I do love Apps-School.com for this very reason. They send me cool apps right to my email. Nothing a busy mom loves more than that! I seriously do use them, in fact, I filter their email into a folder so I don’t miss anything.

Right now, they are having a huge giveaway that I wanted to share with you. They are giving away a large assortment of homeschool related apps AND a brand new iPad 2! It only takes a minute to enter, and I urge you to really look around their site, it’s a must-have for our family.

  • Thank you for such a great post! It's so nice to hear that the e-newsletters are useful for you. I deal with the age range issue too – thankfully there are apps for everyone. Good luck with the drawing, and thanks so much for helping spread the word!

  • Absolutely, Melonie. I hope it seemed sincere, since I truly do love you guys. The giveaway was just a fun bonus. :-)I have a picture of my baby girl playing scrolling through the apps that I will post. She just turned 2 in January!
