Sourdough English Muffins: Classic Farm Kitchen

sourdough englishh muffins

I will let you in on a little secret: I am working on another book – this one is all about fermented foods. Soon, I can share more info on the collaborative effort with another wonderful writer, but for now, you know why I am going crazy with the sourdough info.

We eat sourdough quite often, my started is actually one that I have had for many years. I have even given dozens away at classes I give, sharing my sourdough favorites with as many people as possible. I love to be a Sourdough Enabler and I am not too proud to admit it. :-)

Today’s recipe is for one of my favorites. If your family loves English muffins, they will absolutely love this homemade sourdough variety. They are really interesting to make too, although I recommend that your little chef is old enough to respect the cast iron. The pan gets roaring hot!

Sourdough English Muffins

2 teaspoons yeast
2 cups milk
1 cup cornmeal
2 tablespoons cane sugar
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons baking soda

  1. These look so yummy! I have attempted English muffins a couple of times, they are way easier to make than I would have ever thought! :)
